Dear Jürgen,

We are deeply saddened by the news of your mother's passing.

We want to send you and your family our sincerest condolences. There are no words that could describe how grateful we are to have you as our manager. You have given us so much joy and so many unforgettable moments. Hey Jurgen,

I honestly am not very good at writing letters like these, and I hope I never have to write them for the people I love most in my life again (yes you are one of them, even though we have never and may never meet or cross roads) but I guess I will just let it out from my heart and type as I think.

You are a noble man, a very wonderful caretaker and an even better human being, you managing this great club lifted my mood when I was at my worst moments in my life. When my dad was having brain strokes, my life was all misery but you gave me a glimmer of hope by managing this club to glory and leading us to Domestic, European, and International glory. You and this club and team carried me through the dark times in my life and it saddens me to hear that you are going through some tough time yourself. May your mother rest in peace and forever stay in the heavens where she will watch over you forever, I hope this letter reaches you and I further hope that you get through these dark times and hold your head up high with your wonderful smile and personality.

I hope that the very close family you have built at LFC brings you some comfort. We are all forever grateful to have you as our manager as you embody so much of what makes our club special. It is with no irony that I say you will never walk alone. Especially not today.

I wish we could all be there, but every single one of us is thinking of you at home. I am sure you will see that if these messages reach you.

Hello Jurgen,

I am deeply saddened to hear about your loss of your mother. I cannot imagine the hurt you must feel, and I can only guess at how devastated I would feel to lose my own mother, even more so if I couldn't be there for her funeral. And so all I can offer is my deepest and most profound condolences. Truly, I am so sorry that this weight and burden has come to you.

I didn't know your mother, but one can tell a lot about another person based on the quality of their child's character. And while I don't know you personally, I know a bit about you and here is what I believe I can reasonably surmise about who you are.

You are determined. You are kind. You are generous. You are hilarious. You are strong. You are proud. You are intense. You are passionate. You are fair. You care for the unfortunate. You take responsibility where other's would not. You are brave. You are loved. You are someone your mother was almost certainly proud of.

You can also attribute so many accomplishments of a man to those who raised him. Here are some accomplishments your mother could be proud to have helped bring to reality.

Your mother, through you, has helped to give hope, tears, joy, laughter, triumph, and life to multiple cities worth of people. Millions and millions of people.

Your mother, through you, has helped to develop the character and ability of hundreds, if not thousands, of athletes. These athletes have gone on to excel in their craft and find joy and success in their life that they otherwise would never have dreamt possible.

Your mother, through you, has redeemed so many people that others could not see as valuable. There are many, but one that brings me to tears is the case of Jordan Henderson. If your entire career only served to do what you have done for him, it would be enough.

And finally, your mother, through you, has helped turned doubters into believers. And so while I know so little about her, I feel the impact she has made in her time on Earth. She has tipped the balance of the world toward good, rather than evil. She has lived a good life.

Life is made all the more beautiful and vibrant because it is short. The pain of this is evident, and some times... we wish we had more time with those we love. I have no answer for this pain. I'm not sure if anyone does. We can only live on and appreciate that which lives on in the name of those who have passed. And in so many ways, Jurgen, your mother lives on. In you. In what you've done. In what you will do.

And of course, you know that you'll never walk alone. We are beside you in your pain. You are not alone.

Sincerely,

A Liverpool Fan

Football is the most important of all the really unimportant things. Last November, after a cancer diagnosis from several years ago and a long, hard battle, my mother passed away in hospice care. She was 68 years old, a mother of four, grandmother to 6 young kids. I was lucky to be able to look after her in the weeks before she went in to palliative care and to be by her side every day and some nights at the hospice, despite all that was going on with this awful pandemic.

All of this is to say that during those very trying and emotional few years, and especially the last few months, I always had an escape - watching Jurgen's relentless Reds. It didn't matter how bleak things looked for my personal life, I had something to be optimistic about. You are responsible for so much joy for so many, Jurgen. Your mother must have been immensely proud of you. I am heartbroken that you weren't able to be with her in her last days, I cannot tell you how sorry I am for your loss.

Dear Jürgen,

I was so sorry to hear the news about your mother. There's nothing quite like family and the bonds you have with them, but I hope you know that there are millions of people around the world who see you and the lads as part of their own family, myself included.

You have brought me so much joy over the last few years and helped me get through some really difficult periods. I have always found your positive attitude to be truly inspiring and I hope you are able to use it to get through this challenging time of your own.

We are all with you Jürgen. You will never, ever walk alone.

Jurgen - You will never walk alone. A song so perfect it gave us hope. Then you came along. Baritone, guffaw, boom! Yup. The Normal One. You instilled faith and belief, where we were low and despondent. You guided us through the storm, telling us that we need to set aside our glorious past just so we could see the golden sky and listen to the sweet silver song of a lark. So that you could help the boys write their own history. Everything negative you took upon yourself to enable the boys to be positive. And the fans could once again roar. Like only Anfield can. You turned every failure into a lesson. Every fall, an opportunity to rise. But you didn’t just manage a club. You inspired it’s fans, the city to be better people, to take Covid in its stride and be sensible. Visits to the hospital to meet kids, chat with a derby rival fan, to write to a fan kid of our greatest rivals showing no rancour of bitterness despite the kid wanting you to lose. So so many decent things every human being should do. It comes from within and clearly your mum instilled in you values that make people special. She must have been a special lady. Who happens to have a special son. And now in your moment of grief, as personal as it is, even as you stay the best professional, the best human being you can possibly be - know this... we have your back. Just as you have always had ours. Elisabeth Klopp has every reason to make the heavens shine with pride as she beams on from up there! The stadiums may be empty but if you close your eyes and listen, you will hear us all singing at the top of our voices - You Will Never Walk Alone. And to your beloved team - our beloved team - we say this... never give up! To quote a very special human being... “If you must fail, fail in the most beautiful way”. Elisabeth Klopp would love that. Of that I am sure.

Dearest Jurgen,

I'm not sure if you will read this, but I somehow feel like I have to write this to you to tell you how grateful we as Liverpool fans are to have you at the helm.

When I heard about your mother's passing, I was shaken. Having lost my father about a year ago, I know how soul shattering it would be to lose someone close to you.

I don't mean to say it's okay that it happened, and you will be okay. Because i know it sucks right now. But I offer you this:

You mom is incredible proud of you for making so many ppl happy. Nothing in life is more important than making the ppl around you be happy about living. You have done that a thousand times over. Thanks Jurgen, Ynwa.

Jurgen,

I know you are a man of faith and I would like to believe that you know your mother is in a better place. We all love you as Liverpool's manager, not because of your ability to manage individuals, but your ability to inspire and drive people to believe. I do not know your mother, or you, personally, but I would like to believe that this fact made her extremely proud of you and that your successes were her successes.

Like many here have said, we all would love to be at Anfield to give you the smallest bit of support and condolences, but our words are all we have. I know your mother will look over you and your family forever and will be smiling down on your lives forever.

I have had a tough year in 2020 and 2019 wasn't that good either. My only happy moments were because of you and the team. My happiest moments were the game against Barcelona in Anfield, winning the Champions League and Winning the Premier League after a very long wait. Because of you we now believe. You and the team taught me many life lesson and never to give up. You taught me that if I lose, I can lose in the most beautiful way and win everyone's respect. I'm very grateful for you sir. Thank you for the happy moments. I'm sorry this year isn't going very well with you and the team, but I'm pretty sure we'll bounce back. We have a very good base and that's because of you. We believe in you. My condolences for you and your family. Your parents are really proud of you.

It was with great sadness that I read the news about your mother today. My deepest sympathies to you and the rest of the Klopp family. I'm sure Elisabeth was so proud of her son and the remarkable man that he has become. I cannot begin to comprehend the pain you all must be going through right now, and the loss of a loved one far outweighs the significance of football, but know that we are with you every step of the way through all of this. You have consistently reminded us in your time in Liverpool, a period of great joy, happiness and fond memories for us supporters, that we must stand together in the darkest moments as well as the brightest of times. When the best of us is suffering, this is of course no exception. So, from the bottom of my heart, I hope you realise how much you mean to all of us and you will never walk alone.

Jurgen,

I can't describe the impact you've had. On Liverpool, On Dortmund and Mainz. But above all, you've had an impact on me as a person.

You're smart, witty and a humble man, who's always laid back and always stays optimistic, no matter how bad the situation is.

I lost my gran in February last year, and the news of your mother reminded me of the shock. And then Lockdown began.

At a very low time of year, seeing how optimistic you were on the Zoom calls with the lads helped, and I started adopting more positive outlooks on things.

Celebrating our title win was a bittersweet feeling, sweet for winning, but my grand wasn't here to see it. My family were on holiday when we lifted the cup.
I was sat with my Granddad, a lifelong Reds fan himself, and my mum while my city fan dad was brooding in the living room

I have a lot of things I want to say to you, but for now I'll keep it short. I know your mum is proud, her son conquering the Bundesliga, Europe and The Premier League. Seeing the pictures of the 2 of you, I can see where you get happy grin from!!

Look after yourself, and all the best to your family.

You Never Walk Alone,

Charlie, Bob, Lisa and Jamie.

Jürgen,

I want to start this message by thanking you for the endless good memories you have given me, although football is just a game, you have certainly left a lasting positive impact on my life, and you are someone I look up to tremendously.

My thoughts are with you and your family during these difficult times. My heart aches with yours and I just want you to know that the Liverpool family is with you, now and forever. Because at the end of the storm, there is a golden sky.

We love you Jürgen, thank you for all that you have done. May your mother Rest In Peace

Jürgen, so sorry for the loss of your mother, it is extremely difficult at the best of times but even more so in these strange times. They say time is a great healer, but from personal experience I don't believe that for a minute, you just learn to cope better. Just wanted to let you know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. YNWA.

Dear Jurgen,

I’m so sorry about this deep loss and that you could not make it in person to see her one last time. However I am sure she’s always looking down on you from a better place, and she’ll always be with you no matter what. She must have been a great woman to have such a son like you and all of us from all over the world are ever so grateful that you took charge of our beloved football club and became one of us :)

We love you and support you and we wish you the very best during these difficult times.

You’ll never ever walk alone.
